The School Needs the Support of the Community

The parents who rear and nurture the children with outmost love and care dwell in the community. Parents are primarily responsible in providing their children with basic knowledge and teaching them right attitudes and values. While the school nourishes the child’s attitudes and values by enriching the physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual needs.

“A community is the mental and spiritual condition of knowing that the place is shared and that the people who share the place define and limit the possibilities of each other’s lives. It is the knowledge that people have of each other, their concern for each other, their trust in each other, and the freedom with which they come and go among themselves” (Wendell Berry). This quote signifies that the community comprises different individuals who shares common goals and ideals. The bond that connects to one goal and shared together as one creates ripples of success, showcasing how each member of the society contributes and care for the future of the entire humanity.

Schools are recognized as the provider of potential well-educated citizens ready to stand and offer their individual responsibility as a citizen of the country. Thus, the future outlook of each child depends on the delivery of dedicated services of each stakeholder’s in the school and the unending endurance of the teachers in molding every single child’s brain. The effect of developing and uplifting each child’s opportunity to education will result to a vast effect in the community’s future.

The school is effective if it promotes good quality teaching and learning processes with individualized instruction appropriate to each child’s developmental level, ability, capability, and learning style using the interactive, cooperative, and democratic learning methods. It provides structured content and good quality materials and resources and promotes quality learning outcomes by defining and helping children learn what they need to learn and teaching them how to learn.

Moreover, with the recent transition of the educational system of the Philippine Government which is the K-12 Program, the Department of Education and community’s collaboration to uplift the real scenario of the Philippine educational system will be able to answer the missing gaps in education. In which, the school cannot stand alone without the support of individuals in the society. Sharing one’s ideals and aspirations as part of the educational system through various means of resources will serve as a catalyst in the enhancement of basic education.

Through the intertwining support and services offered by each entity in the community, the educational system will become better for the benefit of everybody. We look forward to the future of the next generation where the families, the schools and the entire community work collaboratively to focus on the betterment of the educational system.

Restoring the ideals and hopes of the entire country begins with the dedicated effort and taking full responsibility as the school and the community work allies.
