In compliance with DepEd Region X-Northern Mindanao Memorandum no 104, s. 2014, a Regional Workshop on Reconciliation of Accounts and Preparation of CY 2014 Year End Financial Reports participated by all Division Accountants, Budget Officers Designate, Senior Bookkeeper of Implementing Units and other personnel in Budget and Finance Unit was conducted last January 11-17, 2015 held at Bethany Gardens, Ozamiz City.
The seven-day workshop was spearheaded by the Regional Office Budget and Finance Unit in compliance with the existing DepEd, DBM and COA policies, rules and regulations on the preparation and submission of accurate and up-to-date year-end accounting and budgetary financial reports.
The participants of the said workshop were the Regional Accountant, Regional Budget Officer, Regional Budget and finance staffs, Division Accountants, Budget Officer Designates, Senior Bookkeeper of implementing units and other staff of Budget and Finance Unit of each Division namely: Division of Bukidnon, Division of Cagayan De Oro, Division of Camiguin, Division of Gingoog, Division of Iligan City, Division of Lanao Del Norte, Division of Misamis Occidental, Division of Misamis Oriental, Division of Malaybalay City, Division of Oroqueta City, Division of Ozamis City, Division of Valencia City and Division of El Salvador.
Submission of the accurate and timely reports by each Division office was given emphasis during the said workshop. Queries, clarification and reconciliation on the reports were directly and immediately addressed especially the ones that concerns the Regional Office.
Accordingly, each Division Office consolidated reports play an important role in the preparation of the Regional consolidated financial reports to be submitted to the National level thus late submission or failure of one division within the region to submit accurate financial reports will have a tremendous effect to the Regional Consolidated Financial Report as well as the National Level reports.
The objective of the Regional Budget and Finance unit personnel is that no Division office will be left behind in the submission of the required reports.
The initiative of Region X in conducting the said workshop has helped the region in maintaining its reputation as one of the Regions who submits their reports before deadline to the National Office.
