Stakeholders Recognized as Partners in Progress

stakeholdersEducation is a fundamental sector that every country needs to develop but government have limited resources. They face difficulties in providing quality education services that take into account, individual and community diversity. This has resulted in greater involvement of the private sector including non-government organizations, business corporations and communities in the finance and management of services.

Productive collaborations demand that parents and teachers acknowledge the critical importance of each other’s participation in the life of a child. This maturity of knowledge, understanding and empathy comes not only with a recognition of the child as the central purpose for the collaboration but also with a recognition of the need to maintain roles and relationships with children that are comprehensive, dynamic, and differentiated. Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.

There are many stakeholders in education each of whom needs to play his role effectively in order to help all our children learn better and reach their fullest potential. The pupils, parents, teachers, administrators, and community have the ultimate aim of helping all our children achieve the desired outcomes of education.

A stakeholder is anyone who is involved in the welfare and success of a school. It may also be collective entities which have personal, professional, civic, financial interest or concern in the school. Stakeholder’s engagement is considered vital to the success and improvement of a school.

The involvement and great partnership of pupils, parents, teachers, and community is very evident in the present situation of Laguitas Elementary School, wherein the following projects were raised through the collaborative efforts of all, namely: The school pathway was cemented  through the joint efforts of parents, and our linkage with the  City Personnel; the school stage was finished and is now ready to use through the collaboration of parents and LGU’s; the ICT/e room window grill (which secures the school’s facilities) through the support of some retired faculty members of Laguitas Elementary School; and lately school bags and supplies were given to the pupils by Handog Eskwela of the Vice President of the Philippines, Jejomar Binay thru the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity and Sorority, Malaybalay Chapter. These endeavours meaningfully inspire and encourage the pupils to be in school.

Stakeholders were given tribute last December as recognition of their contribution and gratitude for their willingness to share their resources. Indeed, great partnership has incredible impact on the successful implementation of programs and projects in education. According to Henry Ford, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”
