Dec.10-14, 2012 the five day joint Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) meet and Education Week Culmination Cum Awarding Ceremony (Gabi ng Parangal) held at the Mindanao Civic Center (MCC), Pigcarangan, Tubod, Lanao Del Norte. The joint activities aim to: integrate the sports and arts competition for student athletes and school administrators, recognize internal stakeholders of the region for their outstanding achievements in the fields of sports, teaching and management and to celebrate achievements through camaraderie and healthy competitions.
The top student/pupil-athletes from each Division of Region X competed in 17 sporting events archery, arnis, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, athletics, badminton, baseball, boxing, chess, football, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sepak takraw, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and tennis.
In conformity with the Palarong Pambansa standards and adherence to Republic Act No. 900 as The Ecological Solid Waste Management Act, the contingents had observed Clean, Green and Eco Friendly Palarong Pampook throughout the duration from day of the arrival up to the departure including the technical officials.
MC Mountaineers as moniker for our division composed of 435 athletes, coaches, chaperons with SDS Edilberto L. Oplenaria as Head of Delegation and Lou Ann J.Cultura as PESS Supervisor , together with asst. Athletic & event managers, support staff, nurses, drivers, food/mess hall kitchen staff, supply and finance committee. In elementary division MC Mountaineers rank 6th and in secondary level it ranks 5th among the 14 division, for overall results both elementary and secondary MC was 5th Runner – up .
Gabi ng Parangal, Governor’s and Deped Night is a unique activity in the evening of Dec 10 in line of the Education Week Celebration. A certificate of recognition and cash prize of One Thousand Pesos (Php 1,000.00) were received by the outstanding teachers, school administrators, Education Program Supervisors and administrative staff in our Division namely: Angelica M. Leonardo, Reinate Noel N. Pelagio, Karen D. Tan Nery, Feliciano Sante Jr., Hainah Jean S. Olvida, Ruilyn Z. Crusio, Persie B. Respito, Lucia E. Melendez, Carlos G. Rara, Many B. Pimente, Leny G. Ama, Pariso L. Orong, Amparo C. Bautista, Apolinario L. Ravidas, Maria Concepcion S. Reyes, Ralph T. Quirog, Daisy V. Parchamento, Paulina M. Minao, Oliver T. Lugmay, Marciano P.Jurolan, and Francisca V. Pagobo.
This year‘s theme is K to 12 Basic Education Program: Engaging Stakeholders and Communities Forward which aims to reaffirm and emphasize the role of education in empowering and developing the young Filipinos to be productive citizens of the country and responsive to the needs of the times.
