CCS bags EETA national excellence award

eeta1“Be an interested and sensitive innovator mindful of the needs and interests of the learners.”- a tagline used by Casisang Central School to represent the school’s “The Innovation To Make Innovation Program”. It helped make Casisang Central School one of the six 2016 Excellence in Educational Transformation Award (EETA) national awardees held last June 21 at Dolphy Theater, ABS-CBN compound, Quezon City.

Casisang Central School was given the Excellence in Educational Transformation award in the area of Innovation in Quality Education; Curriculum Design and Development, Learning Materials and Methodologies and Delivery System for Learning Effectiveness. Three of the 26 learning materials submitted under the schools’ The Innovation to Make Innovations Program were recognized, namely; “Kantahon Ta Ang Matematika” by Merly M. Miral, “Scicrozzle Booklet” by Jardiolen T. Carbajal and “Color-Coded NAT 6 Science Examiner” by the school principal, Coslita K. Muring.

eeta2CCS was included in the 17 shortlisted schools and was visited by the EETA technical screening committee last January 22. The final validation of the recognized materials was conducted, May 6 where the defense was through a 30-minute PowerPoint presentation and a 5-minute video presentation of the considered innovations with the question and answer portion by the panel composed of the dignitaries of the sponsoring groups and a representative of the Department of Education.

eeta3The EETA is an award given by Bayan Academy in partnership with the Department of Education, Knowledge Channel Foundation, Rex Bookstore and ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, to public and private schools offering elementary and secondary education nationwide. The award recognizes the innovative efforts of the school in transforming themselves into institutions that promote learning effectiveness and school efficiency while being true to their mission, vision and values.

The awarding committee includes the DepEd secretary, Bro. Armin Luistro and the presidents and chairmen of Rex Bookstore, ABS-CBN, Bayan Academy and Knowledge Channel. All EETA awardees except the Most Transformative School, received a trophy and Three Hundred Thousand Pesos cash prize.
