Malaybalay City is the Summer Capital of the Philippines in the South. Its boundary in the East is Cabanglasan and the Pantaron Ranges, which isolates the Province of Bukidnon from the areas of Agusan del Sur and Davao Del Norte; in the West is the district of Lantapan and Mount Kitanglad; in the North is Impasug-ong; and in the South is Valencia City and San Fernando. The entire eastern and southwestern outskirts bordering Agusan del Sur and Davao del Norte is thickly forested mountains, which is one of the few remaining woodlands of Mindanao. D’ Mountaineers became the official moniker of the athletic delegation of the division of Malaybalay City for the above-mentioned reason. The mountainous areas surrounding the city division did not prohibit the learners from different schools in the elementary, secondary and/or learners with special needs to develop their sports inclination.
All these years, D’ Mountaineers have lived out their identity for the name connotes a tenacious spirit that is determined to climb rough terrain and dangerous cliffs. It is synonymous to endurance, dexterity and strength. The passion to win this year’s athletic competition pervades in each one’s heart. Now is the time to see if all training would pay off (Labrador, 2018).
They have undergone tenacious and rigorous training in their respective schools. Then they were chosen to represent in the district and division athletic competitions. Another conditioning to hone their skills is at hand to ensure that they are ready as they converge among other athletes from the region for the national level.
“Cool weather, warm people” is the eminent tagline among athletes for they give it out as they compete. They play agile cool and radiate warmth for the spirit of sportsmanship is an emblem in their midst.
