MC garners 6 medals in the 2016 Palarong Pambansa

mc2016The Division of Malaybalay City garnered 3 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze during the 2016 Palarong Pambansa held at Legazpi, Albay, April 10-16, 2016.

Jene Hear L. Quiambao of San Isidro College, Elementary Department won   a gold medal,   a silver medal and   a bronze medal in swimming   and Zhakira Eybriel J. Idulsa of Malaybalay City Central School won a gold medal and a silver medal in the same event.  Lyn Jael G. Maureal of Airport Village Elementary School won in Chess.

Aside from the medals, the athletes    were also awarded with corresponding cash prizes by the Philippine Sports Commission (gold Php 3,000.00, silver Php 1,500.00 and bronze Php 750.00) and DepEd  Regional Office (gold  Php. 20,000, silver Php. 5,000. and bronze Php. 3,000.00.

There were 17 athletes and three coaches who qualified in the 2016 Palarong Pambansa from Malaybalay City out of 431 athletes and 98 coaches in the entire Region.

Participants to this 2016 Palaro were 14,000   athletes from  the 18 regions,  namely: National Capital Region  Athletic Association ( NCRAA) of National Capital Region, Region Athletic Association (RIAA) of Region I or Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CaVRAA) of Region II or Cagayan Valley,  Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) of Region III or Central Luzon, Southern Tagalog-CALABARZON Athletic Association (STCAA) OF Region IV-A or Southern Tagalog –CALABARZON, MIMAROPA Regional Athletic Association (MRAA) of Region IV-B or Southern Tagalog-MIMAROPA, Bicol Regional Athletic Association (BRAA) of Region V or Bicol Region, Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) of Region VI or Western Visayas, Negros Island Regional Athletic Association (NIRAA) of Region XVIII or Negros Island Region, Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVRAA) of Region VII or Central Visayas Region, Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) of Region VIII or Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) of Region IX or Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) of Region X or Northern Mindanao, Davao Regional Athletic Association (DavRAA)of Region XI or Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN Regional Athletic Association (SRAA) of Region XII or SOCCSKSARGEN and CARAGA Regional Athletic Association  of Region XIII or CARAGA. 

Superintendent Oplenaria congratulated the athletes for their achievement which added prestige to the Division and encouraged them to continue their effort on enhancing their skills.
