Division ICT orients DCP Batch 29-33

mlyblydcp29-33In order to achieve the strategic plans and directions of the Division ICT Plan and Division Strategic Plan particularly ICT4ed program, the Division of Malaybalay City conducted the 2-day Orientation/Briefing of recipient schools under DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) batches 29-33 last June 9-10 at Loizas Pavilion, Casisang Malaybalay City, participated by the seventy three (73) ICT coordinators from elementary and secondary schools in the Division of Malaybalay City.

The activity aimed to capacitate the teachers in using ICT tools to enhance delivery of interactive lesson to effectively engage student in a learner-centered classrooms situated in a constructive learning environment.

Edilberto L. Oplenaria, CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent gave his message on change. He stressed that now is the time to make everything useful and to utilize the available  ICT facilities and tools to improve the quality of lessons in order to actively engage the learners and allow them to connect to the real world context. 

The participants were oriented on the Counterpart requirements needed before the delivery of the computer package, Guidelines for the inspection and acceptance of the computer packages by Anabelle B. Miquiabas and DCP Ticketing System by Paul John P. Arias. Right after the two topics, there were breakout sessions for elementary and secondary school ICT coordinators. The elementary school ICT coordinators were taught some basic knowledge about ICT applications that can be used as a tool in teaching, like: Making Newsletter using MS Publisher by Gretchen Catane, Interactive quiz using MS PowerPoint by Leny G. Ama, and Internet Mining and Video Downloading by Pamela Astudillo. While the secondary school ICT coordinators were educated on PC Assembly, PC Configuration, PC Networking by Kervi Don Abendaño, and Adobe Photoshop by Jade Grace Cabañelez. During the plenary, participants were oriented on the ICT integration in the classroom by Analy L. Ocier in which two participants were chosen to do the demonstration using ICT integration.

Each school ICT coordinator prepared an action plan for ICT integration in classroom instruction, reviewed by the school head and approved by the Schools Division Superintendent. Its implementation at school level will be closely monitored by the Information Technology Officer (ITO) and ICT- Integration Monitoring and Evaluation (IME) team.
