MCD Soars High in MTAP Regional Finals

mtap 14Malaybalay City Division was declared Regional Champion of the recently concluded 2014 Metrobank-MTAP-DepED Math Challenge – Regional Team Oral Finals for Elementary Level last February 07, at RELC, Lapasan Cagayan De Oro City.

Bryle P. Opecio and Chelsea Psalm M. Neri, Grade VI pupils of St. John’s School with their coach Jason T. Betonio, (the 2014 Metrobank-MTAP-DepED Math Challenge – Division Team Oral Finals First Place winner) represented the division in the said competition.

They received Metrobank Medals and Certificates of Merit from Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI) during the awarding ceremony of the said event at RELC, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City. Various exemplary and remarkable awards were also received by the other division participants of another category during the awarding ceremony.

Bryle P. Opecio (2nd Honors during the 2014 Metrobank-MTAP-DepED Math Challenge – Division Elimination Rounds – Written Competition – Elementary level) won 3rd place of the 2014 Metrobank-MTAP-DepED Math Challenge – Regional Finals – Written Competition – Individual Category – Elementary level.

Lucy T. Aehr and Coleen Eve L. Torniado, 4th Year High School students of Bukidnon National High School Main with their coach Arlene C. Gantalao (the 2014 Metrobank-MTAP-DepED Math Challenge – Division Team Oral Finals – Secondary Level, First Place winner) represented the division and won 7th place of the 2014 Metrobank-MTAP-DepED Math Challenge – Regional Team Oral Finals – Secondary Level.

All of the Division’s participants, team and individual category both elementary and secondary level with their coaches and School Principals gave their best in the quest for mathematical skills competence over the fourteen (14) divisions of the entire region.

In behalf of Malaybalay City Division through the leadership of the Schools Division Superintendent Edilberto L. Oplenaria, congratulations to all of us! Kudos Malaybalay City Division!

IMG_01891Congratulations to Malaybalay City Division for garnering various awards during the 2013 Regional Communication Writing and Speaking Festival (Comfest) last Dec. 11, 2013 at the East City Central School, Lapasan ,Cagayan de Oro City. The team worked hard to attain the goal through the leadership and encouragement of SDS Edilberto L. Oplenaria.

BSU-SSL Stude to Represent the Division of Malaybalay City in the Regional ASEAN Quiz 2013

asean quizJasliene Kytheva Cordero of Bukidnon State University, Secondary School Laboratory won the First place with her coach Desiree A. Barroso in the Division ASEAN Quiz held at E-Room, Malaybalay City Central School, Malaybalay City December 3.

She will represent the Division of Malaybalay City in Regional Competion on January 9, 2014 at RELC, Cagayan de Oro City. 

Thalia Laut of San Isidro College, High School Department with her coach Emmi Patricio Dinawat got the second place and Van Leurain Caballero of Bukidnon National High School Main with her coach Ma. Lennie Ragmac was in the third place.

The competition was open to all fourteen (14) to sixteen (16) years old third year students from public and private schools as well as laboratory schools of state university. Eighteen (18) secondary schools in the City of Malaybalay participated in this Division Level Quiz. The questions competition focused on various aspects of ASEAN as a regional organization as well as its history, socio-cultural, political, economic developments of the ASEAN Member States.

It was a very successful activity with the full support of Malaybalay City Central School, the host school with Principal Rommil T. Jabonero and with Schools Division Superintendent of Malaybalay City, Edilberto l. Oplenaria.

Malaybalay City Division Hits a Milestone as National Winner

bnhsThe Division of Malaybalay City represents  Region X in the National Population and Development Contest on Jingle Writing & Singing at Tacloban City last April 7-10, 2012 during the National Festival Of Talents.

Dolly C. Cruz of Bukidnon National High School with her coach Ma. Lourdes V. Ando under the leadership of their Secondary School Principal IV, Pariso L. Orong won First Place among the sixteen (16) participating regions in the country.

The contest aims to provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents in the area of Social Studies particularly on the awareness of population issues and development.

Arceno Wins GURO NG PAG-ASA

arcenoBangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Department of Education awarded Mrs. Zelda T. Arceno last February 26, 2013 at DepED Region 10 Office, Cagayan de Oro City for being the Mindanao Area Winner for Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan in the 2012 Search for GURO NG PAG-ASA – (Gantimpala para sa Ulirang Pagtuturo ng Pag-iimpok at Araling Pansalapi).

Mrs. Arceno’s commendable performance was recognized due to her dedication in integrating Financial Education through the use of teaching guides in Araling Panlipunan (AP), Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP) and Edukasyong Pagpapakatao (EsP)

The Schools Division Superintendent, Mr. Edilberto L. Oplenaria was with her on stage receiving the Certificate of Recognition and a cheque of Php 50,000.00 from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

Three years ago, Mrs. Zelda T. Arceno was a Master Teacher I of Malaybalay City Central School when the Search had started.  Had it not been the promotion she is holding now, as a School Principal in St. Peter Elementary School in Far East District, she would have been the winner in the whole Philippines as asserted by one of the judges in the Search.

The Director of the Corporate Affairs Office of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Ms. Fe M. De La Cruz hoped that the accomplishments of Mrs. Arceno together with the other winners of the 2012 Guro ng Pag-asa will encourage more teachers to continue empowering school children to become more financially independent. She also looked forward to having many more excellent nominees from Region 10 for this year’s Search.

Finally, Ms. Arceno is very happy with her great achievement.
