School Based Feeding Program (SBFP) 2014 – Planning Workshop

sbfpThe Department of Education (DepEd) recognizes how important good nutrition is for the improvement of learners’ academic performance.  Consequently, it is associated with increased enrolment, better performance, improved attendance, decreased repetition and dropout rate.  Thus, DepEd proposed in the 2014 Budget a School-Based Feeding Program that will cater to a targeted 562,262 severely wasted (SW) school children in Kinder to Grade 6 nationwide based on the Nutritional Status (NS) Baseline Report through DepEd Order 54, s. 2013.

Crucio bags first place in Action Research

crucioRulyn Z. Crucio, a teacher of Bendulan Elementary School won First Place in Action Research Poster Presentation under SBM Principle 2 during the Regional SBM General Assembly and Research Congress at Pearlmont Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City, December 4-5.

Her paper entitled “Magtuon Kita Og Basa: Supplementary Reading Material for Mother Tongue- Based-Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) “ was exhibited using Continuous Improvement Methodology with all-inclusive stages and steps. Mrs. Crucio shared her intervention to the district level and continues to monitor the progress.

Malaybalay City Division delegation to the assembly was headed by the Division Research Coordinator, Rosie Salupado and Division SBM Coordinator, Ralph T. Quirog. Other researchers from the Division of Malaybalay City were Roger Meñoza (SBM Principle 1 Oral Presenter) of Silae National High School, Merlita Meliston (SBM Principle 2 Oral Presenter) of Magsaysay Elementary School, Mars Sumalinog (SBM Principle 3 Oral Presenter) of Calawag Elementary School, Salley Moreno (SBM Principle 4 Oral Presenter) of Bangcud National High School, Everardo Calopez (SBM Principle 3 Poster Presenter) of Bukidnon National High School, and Marites Escamillan (SBM Principle 4 Poster Presenter) of Mabuhay Elementary School. Winners of previous year’s action research presentation, Purisima J. Yap and John P. Rarogal were with the delegation.

Regional Workshop on CY 2014 Financial Reports conducted

In compliance with DepEd Region X-Northern Mindanao Memorandum no 104, s. 2014, a Regional Workshop on Reconciliation of Accounts and Preparation of CY 2014 Year End Financial Reports participated by all Division Accountants, Budget Officers Designate, Senior Bookkeeper of Implementing Units and other personnel in Budget and Finance Unit was conducted last January 11-17, 2015 held at Bethany Gardens, Ozamiz City.

It was the first working day of the year 2015 when Schools Division Superintendent Eddie Oplenaria introduced the method to the members of the Executive Committee. The opening line he quoted from Alex MacKenzie states that “The key to successful time management is doing the most important task first, and giving it your full concentration, to the exclusion of everything else.”

CSC Mandates Implementation of Prime-HRM

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) which is the central personnel manager of Philippine public agencies mandated the implementation of PRIME-HRM, an acronym for “Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management,” through CSC Memorandum Circular No. 3, Series of 2012 and CSC Resolution No. 1200241 dated February 01, 2012, integrated with the Personnel Management Assessment and Assistance Program (PMAAP) accreditation.
