Change is coming, it starts with us

In just a couple of days, Rodrigo R. Duterte will take his oath of office as the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines. During the last presidential elections, “Change is Coming” has been his campaign tagline. It caught up easily with the Filipino people because of their hunger for change. He has become an icon whom people look up to, to bring on the change that this country badly needs and the change that the people desperately wants.

Yet long after the elections, we see motorists weave recklessly on the road and with Duterte stickers brazenly displayed on their windshields. We see people smoking in public places with Duterte ballers on their wrists. Continue reading Change is coming, it starts with us

Division ICT orients DCP Batch 29-33

mlyblydcp29-33In order to achieve the strategic plans and directions of the Division ICT Plan and Division Strategic Plan particularly ICT4ed program, the Division of Malaybalay City conducted the 2-day Orientation/Briefing of recipient schools under DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) batches 29-33 last June 9-10 at Loizas Pavilion, Casisang Malaybalay City, participated by the seventy three (73) ICT coordinators from elementary and secondary schools in the Division of Malaybalay City. Filing for terminal leave benefit

Terminal leave pay refers to the payment in cash value of an employee. It includes resignation, retirement, and separation from the service. Based on Budget Circular No. 2016-2, dated March 29, 2016. Pursuant to Section 40 of CSC MC No. 14, Terminal Leave Benefits (TLB) payment is based on accumulated leave credits during the service and the computation depends on the highest salary received.

GSIS Memorandum Circular No. 003 series of 2015 states that the GSIS clearance serves as legal basis for deducting GSIS premium arrearages and loan balances as required for payment of terminal leave benefits. Continue reading Filing for terminal leave benefit

Empowering Property Custodianship

PhotoGrid_14664016852321zPursuant to the institutionalizing of Zero-waiting Time Program in schools as incorporated in the 3-year Division Strategic Plan, eighty-four (84) District and School Property Custodians from public elementary and secondary schools in the Division of Malaybalay City attended the Division Seminar-Workshop on District / School Property Custodianship at Veranda, Casisang, Malaybalay City, April 8.

The participants were oriented on the following topics: (a) Republic Act 9184, known as Procurement Law (b) Basic Concepts and Current Practices on Custodianship including Storage and Warehousing (c) Issuance, Utilization and Proper Filling-out of Forms (d) Inventory Taking and Preparation of Reports (e) Disposal (f) Relief from Accountability in Case of Loss of Government Property and (g) Action Planning. Action research aims for educational transformation

actionresearchDepEd is mandated to “undertake national educational research and studies” which can become part of the basis for necessary reforms and policy inputs (Chapter 1, Section 7 (5) of RA 9155). The current administration also recognizes the need for evidence-based policy development by instituting reforms that strengthen transparency and accountability among government entities.

It follows then that RA 9155 mandates DepED to require all schools divisions to engage in research activities. It means that all teaching and non-teaching personnel in the Department are enjoined to fully implement research in terms of doing priority improvement projects for future referrals and modifications.
