6th Foundation Anniversary: Celebration of growth and success

A fledgling Division before, now soars high!

6th divSeptember 1 is an extra important day for DepEd Division of Malaybalay City yet the Executive Committee during its previous conferences agreed to celebrate the occasion this year simply yet with meaning.

The Division office personnel and staff, together with the school heads as well as officers of the teachers association, and the Division Federated PTA officials joined the celebration at the Division Office with the theme, “Empowered Division of Malaybalay City: Purveyor of 21st Century Skills for Lifelong Learning”.

new teachers pledge commitmentThe 54 newly hired teachers of the Division of Malaybalay City took their solemn Oath of Office with Dr. Nayra right after they were challenged by Schools Division Superintendent Oplenaria to do their responsibilities as teachers and help the Division shine.

To ensure their readiness, the Superintendent led the Induction of New Teachers at Roberto’s Place, Casisang, Malaybalay City, July 28-29.

Enhancing ICT Integration in BdNHS

Despite the advancement of the new technology, there are still teachers who avoid the use of computers in their teaching. Some find the use of computers as cumbersome, while others find it time consuming. The preparation of materials and the setting up of the computer and projector make them reluctant to use the new technology.  This dilemma of some teachers could raise questions like: Are teachers willing to learn how to use the computers? Would they need extensive training in the utilization of computers? Should they be provided laptops so that they would be motivated to learn and use the computers in their teaching?

Realizing the effects of the ICT in the education system, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Department of Education provided most of the schools with computer units and peripherals. Some of the teachers in these schools have undergone ICT trainings.
