MC conducts cultural presentation, “Dakaka Hu Mga Hintelek Ha Mga Ligsek”

No single dark cloud loomed in the sky when the indigenous school children from 17 schools of the Division of Malaybalay City gathered for a cultural presentation entitled, “Dakaka hu mga Hintelek ha mga Ligsek” at Kalasungay Central School on November 21.

This is the first time the city division held such activity which was participated in by schools having the most number of Indigenous Peoples (IP) learners, namely; Baganao ES, Caburacanan ES, Can-ayan IS, Candiisan ES, Dalwangan ES, Kalasungay CS, Kapitan Anghel ES, Kibalabag ES, Kulaman ES, Manalog ES, Mapulo ES, Patpat ES, Tagilanao ES, Tintinaan ES, St. Peter ES, Silae ES and Zamboanguita CS.

MCD conducts an Orientation on National Inventory of DepEd Public School Buildings for SY 2014-2015

schbldg2014The Department of Education–Malaybalay City Division conducted an orientation spearheaded by Planning Officer II and Division ICT Coordinator, Paul John P. Arias on November 18 at Bukidnon National High School, Brgy. 03, Malaybalay City.

The said activity is aimed to address issues regarding the completion of inventories to be submitted on or before December 12 and provide assistance to school heads, school property custodian or the physical facilities coordinator, and the PTA President or the Kagawad in charge of education in completing the inventories of DepEd public school buildings for school year (SY) 2014-2015.

Coaches and Chaperons convene for Division Seminar on Sports Medicine & Sports Nutrition

sports medicines collageIt was indeed a very significant learning to all coaches and chaperons on the sports medicine, conditioning and sports nutrition held at Roberto’s Place, Casisang, Malaybalay City last November 5, 2014.

The said division seminar was attended by one hundred fifteen (115) teachers and non-teaching personnel. The rationale of the seminar was to track down the progress of athletes by keeping them on the right track with the right amount of food required in the training. Prevention and treatment of athletes in terms of injuries and health problems is also tackled.

GSP Basic Training Course Conducted

gsp collageThe Division of Malaybalay City in cooperation with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Bukidnon Council conducted a Two-Day Live-In Basic Training Course for Troop leaders for elementary and secondary teachers last November 8 – 9, 2014 at Casisang Central School, Casisang, Malayblay City.

The basic training course was realized through the effort of Mrs. Lou-Ann J. Cultura, EPS in MAPEH and Division Coordinator in GSP. The said training aimed to equip the participants with the eight basic skills, knowledge in knot tying, how to handle ceremonies and manage a troop.

Seminar-Workshop on Enhancing Musical and Pedagogical Skills for Grades 1, 2 & 3 Teachers Conducted

music collageThe Division of Malaybalay City conducted a Seminar-Workshop on Enhancing Musical and Pedagogical Skills for Grades 1, 2,  and 3 Teachers teaching music under the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum last November 6 – 7, 2014 at Roberto’s Place, Casisang, Malaybalay City.

The two-day seminar-workshop was participated by eighty five (85) grades 1, 2 and 3 teachers, district music and arts coordinators and grade level leaders from the six districts of the division. The main objectives is to provide teachers with a concrete understanding of the K to 12 Music Curriculum framework, learning standards, competencies and assessment; to adopt various approaches in music teaching strategies, instructional materials; and learn how to play musical instruments like guitar, ukulele and recorder while singing grades 1, 2 and 3 songs.
